v2 Component Skinning Tutorial
I just uploaded a new tutorial at http://www.gotoandlearn.com called “v2 Component Skinning” which shows the basics of how to skin the UI components that ship with MX 2004 and Flash 8. In the tutorial I show how to skin the window component but the techniques I show can be used to skin most all of them. Hope you like it!

No MAX for me
Unfortunately I won’t be going to MAX. I guess this year I am a victim of my own success as I don’t have any free time for the next few months. I’ve never attended a MAX conference but it seems like it’s going to be great. The next conference I’ll be attending will be the Flash Forward in Seattle.

Free FLV Background Loop #1
I’m going to start posting some free seamless video loops that I’ve been doing in After Effects. The first is a red curtain effect. To download the FLV clip just click on the preview below. The FLV is 700×200 and is encoded with the new VP6 codec. It is around 160k. It can be scaled up or down and will still look very nice.
