What the Hell am I Doing?

Ok so I got the gotoandlearn.com domain name back. Phew! I guess I should actually check on things like this. I’m uploading the tutorials to the new webspace, genrously donated by Sean Foushee!

So in a couple of days we will be back to 100% and I’ll get around to doing some new tutorials. I’m learning so much at frog and I want to share it all with you. It also looks like I will have to learn Sparkle, aka Microsoft Expression Interactive Designer. From what I’ve seen so far, you can create some really cool stuff but the IDE sucks big time. We’ll see how it pans out.

Latest News About gotoAndLearn()

Ok here is a rundown of what is going on right now with the site and the forum:

  1. I am in the process of renewing the domain name so gotoAndLearn.com will live on
  2. Right now the forums are acting really wierd. It sometimes redirects to Microsoft for some reason. And no, I don’t work for them now :-)
  3. I am going to send out an email to all people on the gotoAndLearn() mailing list to try to arrange some hosting

I thank you all for your patience during this crazy time. None of this is helped by the fact that I just started a new job and am trying to do some great work for them. But we WILL be back up and running soon. I promise you all that.

Forums and Tutorials Relocated

Well in the ongoing saga with gotoAndLearn(), the hosting for the FLV files has gone away again. Also the domain name which I thought was on auto-renew, expired today. So the plan is now to move everything over here to theflashblog.com. This is for the best as I’ll have one site for everything now.

The forums are back up and we haven’t lost any data. You can get to it at http://www.theflashblog.com/forum.

The tutorial player is back at http://www.theflashblog.com/tutorials but the tutorials need to be hosted elsewhere.

Hopefully things will be back to normal soon,

gotoAndLearn() is back!

Adam from geekbulletin.com has generously donated server space for the tutorial files and I’m now in the process of uploading them. If you get chance, be sure to go over and thank him for keeping this site going. Adam you’re the man!

Look for new tutorials soon and be sure to check out the very active forums if you need some help with anything Flash related.

Digg.com Kills gotoAndLearn()!

So I wake up this morning to find that gotoAndLearn() is listed on the homepage of digg.com. And as expected, the servers at Stanford went haywire and they had to remove all the FLV files. I can’t blame them for that. So the site is a victim of its own popularity. So until I can find some alternate hosting, the site will be down.

May be Adobe would like to host it as a gesture of goodwill to the Flash community. What do you say Adobe? :-)
