New Video Tutorial on ActionScript 3 XML Basics
I just finished uploading a new tutorial to gotoAndLearn() which shows you the basics of working with XML in ActionScript 3. Things have changed significantly in this area and trust me, they are changes for the better. The new technology is know as E4X and it makes parsing XML data a breeze. This tutorial shows you how to build an RSS reader using some of the new Flash CS3 components. Once you get the hang of E4X you will be hooked!
Enjoy the tutorial!

Video Recap of Macworld 2008
Last week I attended Macworld 2008 and shot some video in the expo hall. There wasn’t anything that mind-blowing this year as far as I was concerned. But either way I thought I should do some kind of conference recap. So without further adieu…

InsideRIA Site Launched by O’Reilly
O’Reilly, makers of the best technical books on the planet, have just launched a new RIA portal site which looks to be very cool. I was going to be involved with this site before I started at Adobe but now I’m just relegated to being a reader. Andre Charland, who I got to know on the bus tour this last summer is one of the main contributors so I’m sure it will contain some great content. I’m not really an “RIA guy” myself but I still like to keep up on the latest information. Check it out!

ActionScript 3 Billy Mays Tribute
I just moved leebrimelow.com to my new server and to celebrate I’ve created a Billy Mays filter effect splash screen. For those who don’t know, Billy is the ultimate infomercial pitch man. You’ve got to love that guy!

Coming to FITC Amsterdam?
I’m really looking forward to heading to Amsterdam next month for FITC. This will be my second time at an FITC and I think this conference will be awesome. Just go over and check out the speaker list if you need convincing. Travel to Amsterdam is very easy from anywhere in Europe so come on over and check it out. If you like prostitution and weed then you will have an even better time. Neither of these are really my style, but whatever floats your boat. I might slip Mike Downey some magic shrooms before he does the keynote though
.
See you there,
Lee
