Things have been kind of slow here on my blog and on Twitter over the last week. The reason is that I am on a two week vacation. In actual fact we are moving into our new house and are also remodeling a bathroom and updating the electrical service. I can honestly say that I’ve never worked as hard as I have over the last week. All of us in cushy computer jobs should take a minute and be thankful how easy we have it The photo at the left is me right after an extensive bit of tile cutting. I have also installed recessed lighting, wired receptacles and switches, and almost every other construction job. I have one more week of vacation and then I’ll be back with more tutorials and Flash-related posts. |

Not thinking of a career change then Lee?
The Recessed Lighting and Wired Receptacle blog…hmm. Quite catchy. Haha!
Looking good, have fun renovating. It will be worth it when you see the house clean and ready.
Try to make it energy efficient if you can
its not a tshirt anymore, it’s a sweater… got that?
Good stuff Lee! We could use a hand in our new flat in Sweden as well if you would be willing…
Look into solar water hearts, it saves a lot. And its becoming very popular in the US here in Israel.
“Heaters”
congratulations on your new home and thanks for the institutes that are coming through
yeah clean and cool house = feel confertable = good tutorials

probably due for a holiday after all that…
Hello Lee, Can you help me out? My text in Flash CS4 action panel is now with the TAB and RETURN like “<<" and "q" symbols. How to make them disappeared back to normal edit model? Thanks a lot.
Appropriate T-Shirt for the job, I’d say.
Could start a new series of tutorials at http://www.gotoandwork.com
Hello Lee,
Welcome back
I am moving to other house too and remodeling the kitchen and bathroom.
cheers
Good luck Lee and I hope you may enjoy your vacation HAHAHAHAHA
Hey Lee:
Can you post some pictures?. Like before and after shots? Or maybe a tutorial on installing recessed lights!
Enjoy the break from codeing…(hmm maybe my studio might look better with a nice soffit lighting effect…got me thinking…
It’s always nice to change a bit and switch from mental to fisical work.
Happy Vacations
good luck with the move and the remodeling; moving is one of those necessary evils of life that makes you want to get rid of everything that won’t fit into 1 suitcase.
I always enjoy (time to time) to do some handwork. Kinda makes you feel good that you can still do something “real” and of course you become thankful for having your job
Good luck mate!
Lee, I have not seen you at a conference in almost three weeks! I’m going through withdraw!
Be happy Lee, that early in your career figuring out there’s more to life than computers. Did you notice the grass is always greener next door?
Hi Lee,
can you post some photo of your new office please ?
Dude, I have been there. 3 years and still going. Tile cutting is the worst. I used one of those plastic full-face shields to help with the back splash. It’ll all be worth it when it’s done. Good luck!
You Rock Lee
gotoAndRemodel(this.bathroom);
Doesn’t sound like vacation to me, congrats on the house.

Congrats on the move Lee!
hahaha, yeah after shocking myself while replacing a wall-heater, and cutting through a live 120Volt electrical line, I no longer do the work myself, and my wife is happy about that.
