Update: right after I posted this I got some good news that I hope will make this tour a reality. Stay tuned!
As I’m sure you’ve already read, one of my goals is to make an effort to reach out to the Latin American Flash community much more than we have in the past. As part of this effort I am trying to arrange a user group tour after MAX where we can essentially present a lot of the same things we are showing in LA. Now before you folks in Latin America get too excited, this is just a proposal. That means that this is just an idea and may not ever turn into a real tour.
As I mentioned before the only obstacle for things like this is budget. So my plan is to get some companies to sponsor the tour. I have already reached out to several that I know and am waiting to hear back. But if you are a company who wants to get themselves in front of thousands of amazingly talented developers in Latin America send me an email at brimelow [at] adobe [dot] com and let’s talk. This is chance to get yourself in front of a huge number of folks that you don’t normally see on the traditional Flash conference circuit.
The plan is still in its early phases but I am shooting for either mid-November or early January. As for locations, I have already gotten a great response from Costa Rica and Colombia so they will definitely be on the list. For you user group managers in other parts of Latin America, email me if you would like to be considered. This won’t be like a traditional Adobe tour where there are free pens and a support staff to help you. This is more of a guerilla user group tour. You will need to provide an appropriate venue and anything else you want to add. Afterwards we can all go out for cervezas but they won’t be provided by Adobe
.
So I hope to hear from companies who want to show some love to the Latin American Flash community. I’m confident that somehow we can make this happen.

Hi Lee! Great Attitude!
It’s very important for us to have such great support and consideration represented by Adobe on a person like you!
First, of course, you can always include us (RIA-BA UG) as well as a lot more of other UGs here in Brazil that may put their availability here too.
Second, since your post yesterday me and some other people is already trying to organize in some way to make it happen, I mean, acquire sponsors for it.
One thing I consider important, would be to know what should be the targeted budget to make it happen.
I’ll contact you directly to keep on this conversation.
One more time, thank you so much for all your effort on this!
Hey Lee! Try to get to Argentina this time, we’ll be waiting here for you!
its nice to see you here again, and i may invie you to some cervezas
anywhere in Brazil would be great. If you include Curitiba then it’d be awesome.
I’ll miss MAX this year
(presenting on another conference in Atlanta at the same time).
A MAX tour nearby would be simply priceless.
Hi Lee,
this was a great idea, we haven’t official AUG here in Sao Paulo (no more), but here are (I believe) the largest number of Flash Platform developers in Brazil (a hug for Friends of Bahia and RJ), this will be a great opportunity to share experiences.
I don’t believe I lost the MAX in Vegas: D

Hi Lee,
First of all thanks for the amazing work, I have really enjoyed learning from your tutorials. I live in Colombia, and had the chance to be in Flash Camp – Bogota. I work as a freelance Flash Designer/Developer and work as a professor in two Universities in Bogota. I think your South American initiative is amazing and I am lighting candles hopping it becomes a reality. Hope to see you soon hopefully in the company of other Flash Gurus.
Cheers Julian
We hope to see you soon, here in Argentina, Lee!
Hi Lee,
Sambatech is developing fantastic applications using Adobe Flex and we are very interested to sponsor your Latam tour!
Wow Lee! would be great if you could come to Costa Rica, here the flash Community is growing, I´m sure that my co-workers at digital Arbor would love to see a Flash conference from an Adobe evangelist!
We will be waiting for you in Costa Rica Lee… also the “cervezas” will be waiting for you hehe.
I would for sure!
