I gave two sessions yesterday on Adobe AIR and I think both went well. I’ve been really jet lagged on this trip and I actually was up the entire night before so I wasn’t quite as high energy as usual. You can download a PDF of my slides from the AIR Conditioning presentation which includes all the code snippets that can be easily copied and pasted. For those in Amsterdam who will be coming to the AIR tour, don’t worry as I will have new slides and examples by then so it won’t be a repeat. I’m always impressed by the crowds in Europe as they are really enthusiastic and always have great questions. Thanks to all who attended!
Lee

I’ll be there in Amsterdam! Looking forward to it!
Wonderful, i’m sad because at the South America events how these not exists. Lee exists some hope than South America get something like this someday?
Hy Lee, thanks for the Slides from the AIR Conditioning presentation, can you also post your Example about your AIR Video Application that your make on the Session?
greets
nice that’s a great presentation!
AIR Conditioning ^.^
maybe you could add the code snippets to the snippets panel…
Good presentation with a wide topics and the best with code, thanks Lee.
This is an amazing overview and presentation. When would you be able to come to NYC or Philli and do this again!?
Thanks so much for all of your hard work on getting all of this information out here in an amazingly accessible and adoptable manner. I can’t say how many times I’ve been thinking about taking a new approach and noticed that you have already produced a gotoAndLearn video on the topic. Awesome!
Here is a question for you and your crowd. I was checking out the PDF you posted and getting all excited about what AIR can do (I haven’t messed with it too much yet.) My background is traditional development (VB, C#) and I have been writing ActionScript for about 10 years now. Is there an obvious reason I am unaware of that keeps SWFs (for the web) from connecting directly to a database (like the AIR PDF on page 41)? Man, that would be so incredible to do away with having to deal with some server side other than an HTTP-exposed SQL Server of some sort.
An all-nighter in Amsterdam. I can only imagine, Lee…
Lee…
Any plans for Asia -specifically India? The presentation is cool…
One of the better constructed PowerPoints I have seen. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Hi Lee.
Thanks for the presentation, the detail and the code is especially helpful, and is a great resource. With the calls for you to visit areas like India and South America and even NYC, i feel obliged to also ask you guys to try visit Africa (and in particular East Africa) as soon as you can??? You have been a great help for us budding aspiring designers and developers here and we appreciate all the sharing you do that keeps as growing. Please do visit Africa sometime, as you transverse the globe spreading knowledge, im sure you’ll also love the experience! Thanks!
Hi Lee,
FITC was great! Thanks for your presentation, i realy enjoyed it. Like you said during the presentation, it realy got me thinking about the API
Thanks Lee,
Sidney
Hi Lee
Jet lagged or not, the presentation was great. so don’t beat your self up to much.
FITC in general was great, even though the really advanced stuff seemed to never really get going….
Thanks a lot for the PDF !
Thanks for the slides
Was the AIRMAN created in Poser ?
AIRMAN, Conditioning your Windows, even on a MAC
Hi Lee,
You mentioned in your slides that in Full Screen mode, that keyboard access is available, however when I build an app with AIR 1.0/Flash CS3, whenever I go into full screen mode, there is limited but not full keyboard support. I seem to loose just about all the keys except escape, shift, control, alt and command. Also, I’m on a mac, but AIR is cross platform…so shouldn’t be an issue right?
Could you please clarify if AIR 1.0 is supposed to give full keyboard access in Full Screen mode.
Cheers,
Richard
Hello Lee
Thanks, for the slides. nice 3d character.
Hej Lee, thanks for the slides, the presentation must have been outstanding, maybe next time I´ll be able to attend. Kind Regards from Germany.
I love the Picture!!
Hi Lee,
I’m also interested to find out if the Airman was created in Poser.
Thanks for the link!
