| While I was in London for the on AIR tour I had the pleasure to meet two young Flashers who have been active on the gotoAndLearn forums since the early days. Lawrence Job and Simon Shand are very lucky to be starting in Flash at such a young age. I was almost 30 before I started with Flash. I guess I should just be lucky that I eventually did find my calling as a lot of people never end up doing so. Simon did a video interview with me that you can watch at the left. We chatted about a lot of stuff ranging from my past experience with Flash to why I’m now using a Mac.

Great interview! I’m glad you started using a mac. Maybe this will help more Flash Devs out there understand this platform and Flash are really great together.
Being totally honest, it was you that got us both into Flash in the first place. I also started with HTML/PHP, and thought Flash was more of an animation tool than anything else. I had a go at a couple of your tutorials, thanks to Simon, and learnt a lot more than I had from anywhere else, and so started to enjoy the opportunities Flash provides in terms of dynamic development and the boundaries it removes from cross-browser rich interface design.

1st because you are an auto didactic guy, 2nd because you don’t care if someone use your code or not. The important is that there is lot of people learning with it. 3rd, your video tutorials are great, and make you a celebrity. I couldn’t go to Madrid, but there were there lot’s of people from Portugal, and João Fernandes recorded everything, although next time, you might consider come to this little country that do great things.
