One of the things that I always have trouble doing when giving presentations is limiting myself to an hour. It seems that every time I speak I end up only showing about half of what I had intended to present. This is especially true nowadays as we are doing so much new stuff and it’s hard to pick which things to talk about. Well I’m very excited to announce that I will be giving a full day of Flash training in a pre-conference workshop for FITC Amsterdam.
The workshop is entitled What’s New in Flash CS4, but it won’t be limited just to learning CS4. We will also be going into detail on the new Flash Player 10 APIs as well as covering the basics of using Pixel Bender. This will be a hands-on day of training where you bring along your laptop and we build a bunch of cool examples over the course of the day. I will also be bringing along a copy of CS4 Master Collection to give away at the end of the day.
The cost of attending just the workshop is €209.00 EUR, but it is a much better deal to get the Works ticket which costs €449.00 EUR. This allows you to attend my workshop as well as the full FITC Amsterdam event. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you leave feeling like you got your money’s worth.
See you in Amsterdam!
Lee

Too bad I don’t live in Amsterdam
(Or own a laptop for that matter)
But speaking of conferences, do any ever come to the Houston area? I’m just dying to attend one, but they’re all thousands of miles away!
me living in Japan, I’d really like to be able to see it thru some live video feed or something
Damn, I bought a regular ticket a few weeks ago…
Dang! Amsterdam? Even if I had the money to go to the presentation, which I would love to do, I definitely don’t have the time and money to go to Amsterdam… I assume your presentation will be in English? Heh heh, of course.
If you ever have something like this on the north east coast of the good old USA (New York, Philadelphia, D.C. or even as far south as Richmond VA) I would jump at the chance to attend.
Sounds good!
I won’t be at the workshop unfortunately, but I will be at the “Platform Jiu-Jitsu” presentation. I’m really looking forward to it. What do folks bring to these kinds of things? Do attendees usually take notes or would that make me stand out as a nerd among nerds (yes, it’s my first FITC). In any case, I can’t wait…
Indeed. Indianapolis is waiting for a Flash Conference. We have some Web 2.0 conferences but they are usually targeted toward users who get really excited when they hear buzzwords.
Grrr, never a meeting in NYC =(
@Clemente Yeah and that is ridiculous. Maybe we can arrange something through the Flash user group.
That’s one my favorite images on Flickr – http://www.flickr.com/photos/bcnbits/363695635/
yeah, if there’s anything i can do to help with that becoming a reality, please let me know.
Let’s see if my boss is willing to pay :]
What’s New in Flash CS4? New IDE Bugs…
Hi Lee
Is this conference are recorded cause I am out of town and can’t be there is there any place on the web I can watch that conference
Lee: Do World Wide Flash!
Isn’t there a posibility to download or see the conference on the web? Or as a live broadcast? Many people (incl, myself) don’t live near Amsterdam.
It would be great if you publish the conference on the web. I would definitely pay for it.
Lee is doing another What’s new in Flash CS4 at FITC in Toronto. Good for our US cousins (Think of it as 20% off — the exchange rate is about that nowadays.)

you’re the best course might make a flash from scratch
by tutorials and you could suggest an answer that you think little by little and you will not have much free time
thanks
And for students it’s even cheaper. € 109 i’m realy thinking of going just don’t know if i have got the time.
LEEEEEEE- two words for you EAST-COAST!!!!!
I know it is not up to you, but if suddenly it were, you and your peeps could PACK A CONFERENCE if you would bring one to NYC or Phili!!!
Do it man… you would pack the place out! Every freakin flash-head would show up from DC to NYC if you held it in Phili (and I am closer to NYC than Phili, but I know you could get a bigger audience if you held it in between the two locations since trains travel to Phili quite regularly from both directions.)
DO IT! (don’t think… just make it happen)
Seriously though, it is great to hear you get to take an entire day (but seriously, just do it, no but seriously… do it!)
Lee, when will you do it in Africa?
It’s expensive for us to come to Europe man!
Come to Melbourne Australia dude! We need some decent conferences and speakers over here. So envious of all the conferences everywhere else in the world.
