$99 Flash on the Beach tickets for limited time!

When John Davey asked me a while back about bringing his insanely popular Flash on the Beach conference to the states I assured him that it would be a tremendous success, especially since it was going to be held in the southeast. For years people from that region have been complaining about the lack of good conferences there. The one thing that none of us could have seen coming was the recession that we are currently going through. Because of that John is holding a 48 hour sale where you can buy a full conference pass for $99! I can’t begin to tell you how insane this is. Just use promocode RSKNUTS1 when you purchase your tickets. This sale will run out at midnight PST on Wednesday 14th so don’t wait.

See you on the beach!
Lee

  4. lee says:

@Clemente C’mon man road trip! I used to do that drive all the time. It will be worth it trust me.

@Andrew If you need help convincing your boss let me know :-)

  5. WAIT!! is that midnight on Tuesday night, or Wednesday night? Because Midnight Tuesday night is Wednesday already.

  6. Simon says:

that would be real cool if I didn’t already buy them for 120-140 when they first went on sale…… :(

  7. lee says:

    Lee,

You are my hero. I just got tickets! Thanks!

I’m a major fan of FOTB and can’t wait for Brighton this year, but unfortunately can’t afford to fly to the states for the Miami conference so can’t take advantage of this deal.

However, I regret to say that I think John has done a bad thing here. As a fan of FOTB I would be one of the first in line for the “early bird pricing” so that I can get a ticket for the cheapest possible price. In fact I will be as soon as this years brighton tickets are released. But I would be fuming if I found out that 3 months later they were going to be sold even cheaper. It kills the entire pay structure. I only buy early so that I can get a ticket as cheap as possible, so this just defeats the point entirely.

Simon above ^^ appears to have done just that. I really feel for those guys. Conferences are expensive luxuries to the standard freelancer, especially in today’s financial climate. As much as I rate John and his conference, it just feels a bit wrong ya know?

  9. John Barrett says:

Can I ask a question(sorry if it is a dumb one) Can a newbie student learn by going to one of these conferences? The price is great, and I can actually afford this one`-`

    Thanks,
    John

  10. PEDRO PEREZ says:

    what is this exactly?

  11. lee f says:

    very thoughtful!

  12. lee says:

@John Yes a new student can learn a ton from a conference like this! Just the inspiration alone would be worth the $99.

  13. trioptic says:

I was probably one of the first (if not THE first) to buy a pass when the new FOTB was announced. Normally, I would be a bit irritated at spending 3x the price for an “early bird special,” but I’ve also been waiting for a conference closer to me (FL) for so long, that I really don’t mind as much. Beats dealing with hotels and airfare to Cali/NY/Europe/etc.

  14. lee says:

@trioptic Yeah it definitely sucks. I just think the economy hit the industry a little harder than expected and he has to do something to ensure a good turnout. If it’s any consolation, you will definitely get your moneys worth! It will be great to finally meet the beat master in person :-)

  15. Alex B says:

    @Stu:

This definitely feels like a bit of a slap in the face after shelling out $299 for the early bird tickets. The $200 would have greatly helped with the logistics side of this, helping pay for a couple of nights at the hotel for example.

I realize the situation John is in getting kind of desperate; yet at the same point, I want to a partial refund.

  16. danny says:

This would be easier to pitch to my bosses if their web site didn’t mention “beer” and “party”

@Lee, I need help convincing my bosses, please help!

    Thanks
    Danny

  17. Ian Shea says:

@Lee, I’m perfectly fine with Beer and Parties! But still, if you could post up some good stuff to send on over to the boss men that’d be great! :) It’d probably be very helpful information for any other possible conference to go to as well!

  18. John Barrett says:

    Thanks Lee`-`
I will be stoked to get there, and glad to hear that that I can learn a ton too. The $99 is no problem, now all I have to figure out is airfare from hawaii. I am going to ask my boss if he might want to help me.

  19. oclement says:

Bought my pass yesterday. See you in Miami beach baby!

  20. hmig says:

    Lee,

Thanks for the discount code! My boss couldn’t say no and is even sending two of us.

    See you there!

  21. oclement says:

WHAT!! I just receive an email that Flash on the Beach Miami was canceled… is that true?

  22. Alex B says:

    Canceled, indeed.

    Man man man man man….

I so wanted to go to this.

    RIP FOTB 2K9

  23. Simon says:

this sucks….this was going to be my first conference…and it just happened to fall on my school’s spring break….damnit
