Despite being sick with the flu, I finally managed to get issue 2 done tonight. This one contains a great interview with Doug McCune about Flex and then we go over to a local gun range to bust some caps. Next I talk to Phillip Kerman about everything from his YouTube videos to his opinions on what Adobe has been up to. I attended the Macworld expo this year and shot a little bit of footage which is included in this issue. Finally I ask Flash video expert Robert Reinhardt some of the most frequently asked questions about Flash video. Go on over and watch this issue and let me know what you think. If you would prefer to download the file for offline viewing you can download the MP4. You can also subscribe to this podcast via iTunes. |
Hope you enjoy it!

Lee, this reminds me quite a bit of “The Broken” with Kevin Rose back in the day. Extremely entertaining! Flashers rock.
Nice Issue.
You know I just realized what the style of the cover comes from. I just saw the Thrasher Magazine in the Skate 2 video game. I was like ooooo that’s where he got it from. lol
Hi Lee
This is so good just like the first issue. Thumbs Up!!
Lee,
Good initiative. Always good to see and hear people that inspire you.
By the way: was it you in the end?
Pretty amazing stuff you showed there.
It’s the best podcast/webcast in my iTunes list… and I have a big list of podcasts
It seems that the mp4 download link is dead… I only get a 404 page.
McCUNE ROCKS!
great stuff, keep it up
just wondering how much time it takes for production of 1 episode?
I like how your voice comes from way outside the left speaker. Just don’t let Q-Sound sue you.
You didn’t just realize where Lee’s influence for the branding was.
Tony hawk
Christain Hasoi
Rob Roskopp
Lance Mountain
Mike McGill
Vans Off the Walls
Gator, Yikes
Never heard of any of these
better unplug and go find some new heros!
Lee,
what kind of camera are you using?
Lee,
Please, update the download link. It isn’t working. (404 error)
Great episode. Love the ‘Video Days’ theme!
wow that tileui is amazing.
Weeee! im really excited about this one..
..The download link issent work Lee :/ could you fix that?
Thank you!
..the download link should be: http://adobe.edgeboss.net/download/adobe/adobetv/flasher_magazine/issue_2/issue2.mp4 instead
and you can just delete this comment Lee
Nice issue lee but I Like the first most
good Work
@Lee
I think the magazine is awesome, issue 2 was way better than the first. I have only one thought, do you think that for the future issues that you could break up the different segments/interviews into chapters? With the issue being over 20 minutes, I find it hard to see the whole thing in one sitting (when at work, lol) and every time I would come back to finish it, if I went to a meeting or something, I had to download the entire issue from start, and I don’t have your internet connection speed
(Or Adobe can just hook you up with a FMS to stream the videos!)
Cheers!
The download link has been fixed. And yes I plan on making future issues shorter and chapter based.
VERY GOOD.
Keep them comming man.
Any chance you might make a batch of flasher hoodies?
Thanks
Lee, nice magazine!
You should sell those flasher shirts, bring some to Amsterdam!
Got to love the Gonz
Another great article…I want a hoodie too!
Plz give the RSS asdress of the podcast for thoose who don’t use itunes !
Not only do I dig the Ford pickup, but seriously man, you’re becoming quite the video king. Much inspiration after watching those flicks. Being that I’m unemployed, I kick back with the phones on and enjoy. No need to break it up, I say make it longer. Awesome work man and as an ex-skater, it would be sweet to sport a Flasher hoodie! Be safe.
Hey Lee.
Great one again. Personally I liked the video FAQ most. Keep on doing it.
Cheers, marc
Thanks Lee!
Again.. pretty awesome!
I really really want a black Flasher hoodie!!!!
Great stuff Lee!
Flasher Magazine is rockin. Great job on issue 2!
The interview with Philip Kerman had a little voice problem… It seems that the sound comes earlier than the video itself. Do you have the same problem too?
Hey Lee, i love your stuff and toturials, im a Portuguese Flash Dev and i love your work, and all the great work you do for our comunity.
In flasher mag 2 i realy love that part where shows that girl whit the “who cares?” on monitor ehehe very funy ideed. keep on the realy good work.
Cheers.
Thanks, very fun to watch and interesting interviews.
Lovin these movies.. But why not try to flip it a lil, and get some Flash designers that build cool websites. I mean these are cool, but I want to see real world flash designers and how they work.
Just a thought,
Thanks Lee.
I really enjoyed issue2.
I’m definitely adding Flasher apparel to my short list of must-haves.
Hey –
What track is that playing in the background @ intro? sounds like a RZA instrumental… ?? (very important, can’t start work without good music!).
Cheers
Hai Lee, love (so much) about Flasher magazine ^_^
Have you see about BumpTop on youtube ??? The idea is the same as Doug McCune’s Tile UI … Do u think there’s any relation about this project and the reason why Doug McCune doesn’t continue his TileUI project ?
Flasher Magazine is a great idea and I have to say (after quickly browsing through it) it kicks butt. Kudos for a great achievement, sure hope you can keep this up till issue 100+.
Cheers from Oxylus Flash, we’re big fans !
Lee, words cannot express what you do for the Flash Community. I had the benefit of shaking your hand during a session in L.A. with the onAIR tour.
Specifically this issue is right down my alley: I have followed PhillipK’s great and upfront commentary from 30onair.com to his youtube.com/phillipk channel and had the great benefit to take a Flash Video seminar with Robert Reinhardt at RMI in Venice, CA.
You’re right on the pulse of the community and I really appreciate the consolidation of information and look forward to some international content in the near future.
Cheers and keep it rollin

Nice job man.
Video Days must be one of the all time greatest skate videos, I think I only watched Hokus Pokus more often.
Make sure that you carry a Flasher hoody for me to London next week
See you at Flashcamp!
